I'm a lifetime dog person and sometimes breeder who has been pet-free since my Portuguese Water Dog died 4 years ago. I'm ready for another companion. There's no replacing her, and even though two of my three sons have PWD's from her (the third has one from another breeder) I don't think I can go back to that breed. Neither do I feel the need to breed that I once did, though I would be open to being part of someone's existing breeding program if I could do so with only one or two dogs. I have also applied to the TT rescue program. Please let me know what you're about. I would like to adopt soon since I have the summer off (I teach) and could spend lots of time getting a new dog adjusted to their new surroundings at this time. I would also be open to a retired brood bitch or dog if not too old. Mine will be an exceprional home.

Help Mo I might need a new home!!!
Hi Mo,Murf the terrible here,Just thought I'd say 'hello' and let you know about the great day I've had (well I thought so anyway!) First off I spied Jack 'Fatrick' the cat in the front garden this mornin and I had great fun chasin him within an inch of his life, really no time for that dude 'cause he gets better grub than me! I finally gave up chasin the furball with the lure of a toothbrush from Mum (dentastik. That was well nice except all these silly wee birds kept dancing around as I was munchin away. That annoyed me a wee bit so I got a hold of one and had a word with him. Next thing Mum comes running at me yelling like a banshee ! Not really sure what her problem was but then she picked the bird up and I got another earful! She disappeared after that apparently to the vet as it's leg was broke so it had to go for a big sleep. Mum took ages to get the brush out this mornin which is a sure sign that we're going out for a W so just for a little bit of sustenance while I was waiting,I snuck upstairs when she was pushin that noisy machine around the floor and had a few nibbles from Fatrick's bowl. Wasn't quick enough though and got caught so got yet another rollockin and put out the back garden. As you may remember from my photos I love to sit on the sea wall. Well even better a few weeks ago I made a tunnel through the ivy and went to visit toffee the cute wee bunny rabbit that lives next door. The grumpy neighbours said I wasn't welcome so Mum spoiled my fun by building a barricade on top of the wall so I couldn't get through the ivy anymore, bummer! But guess what? I conquered the barricade this mornin and ran along to see if toffee was out to play. Well that was my plan until Mum spied from the window and came out growlin at me again. That made her shift though albeit I got a rather more vigorous brush than usual but I didn't mind. Then however she decided to hang out the washing before we got in the car so I made a really pretty design on the shagpile carpet with a bunch of tissues that I found hanging out of her pocket. Mum looked like she was getting a headache when she found that lot! And then we were off! The country park is great fun but I couldn't find any of my mates today 'cause we went out later than usual and that great lummox Harvey the retriever wasn't in the mood for messin around so I took myself off to see if any rabbits wanted to play. No such luck but then I found something even better! THE most delightful aromatic heap that I've come across in a long time ! Blimey a good old back scratch in that lot was great fun and I felt so relaxed afterwards! Mums face was a picture though when I went back to get her, she looked like she might be about to throw up and although I didn't get the jist of all she was saying, the word 'putrid' kept ringing in my ears? Was looking forward to a long snooze when we got back instead I got tied up outside until Mum appeared with THE bath apron on and strange lookin gloves on her hands and I knew what that meant! Wasn't sure why mum was in such a lather as it was me that then got doused with the soapy bubbles But I got the feeling that she was in a hurry 'cause I've never been blow dried so quick in my life! Anyhow been tryin to keep a low profile ever since as Mum keeps lookin at me and saying strange words like 'flight' and 'Dublin' and I think she mentioned you're name a few times! I know Mum loves me really so I don't think she means it but I reckon I should be on my best behaviour for the next few days 'til she calms down. Hope I haven't bored you too much but just thought I'd keep you up to date with my progress and paws crossed long may it continue!!

Cheers Mo
Hope all my rellies are doin fine
Lots of love

Why do these people show dogs If they cant take another dog been better on the day, after all nobodys dogs are faultless no matter who they are!!!

Just browsing your lovely site before tt and I go to park. Had her coat groomed and thinned out quite a bit as you suggested. She looks good!! Groomer said her coat was in good condition, so I was really pleased as I would like to keep her longish and shaggy, but was worried it would be too much work. It is'nt at all if you just do a few minutes each or every other day.
She loves it and I usually have to wake her up at the end !!!!! I think she thinks she's getting a massage every day!!!

Hi,
Just browsing as we have recently become the owners of an absolutely lovely tibetan terrier rescue dog. She is great fun and lovable, the best thing that has happened to me for a long time. The only thing she does which needs working on is flying at the front door and barking and going mad every time we have a visitor. Once she starts she goes on for ages and it is quite disconcerting to those at the receiving end. Any ideas as to how to stop this as apart from this she is fabulous. Thanks.

Hi Maureen
I was just browsing on the net and came across your site. Im am really impressed. I am a Veterainary Nurse who is now a self employed dog groomer. Your section on grooming is fantastic. I just wish all TT breeders were as thorough as you with advice. So many people come to me with TT's in a terrible state because they had no idea how much work was involved with their coats. I have a TT called Monty so I do sympathise with them. Most of my lients are now better educated and do bring their dogs on a regular basis. Hi Maureen
Hope you and your mutts are all well! I need to ask if you can help here. My Jill is now just over two and her coat is getting harder and harder to keep. I know you told me that the Tibetan coat changes and I was wondering if you could tell me again about the coat. Is it likely to get better? I can't seem to keep up with her matts and we do brush every day. She just seems more fluffy than hairy and although she is still long haired I am thinking, for the sake of both our sanities, to get her cut short. Last winter she was georgeous, long and glossy, but now, as I say, she's just a big fluff ball. Any hints or tips would be appreciated. Jill cares not a jot what she looks like as long as she's having fun so I wouldn'r be utterly devastated if I had to get her cut, but I just love the long hair and she is good enough to let me brush and comb her so I'm hoping it's just a phase.......... thanks Mo.

All your new updates are brilliant (except I've now got puffy eyes from reading 'How could you'). I wanted to let you know that I changed Jake's food a couple of weeks ago as you suggested and that has definitely made a difference. My man at the local pet shop ordered it in for me and although 'Sir' initially turned his nose up at it he's now got over the change and eats it quite happily so thanks for that advice. He gets more handsome by the day!
Congratulations again on the new look website,it's brilliant and I'm sure lots of people will enjoy it!

I hope you are keeping well and all the dogs. My Tibetan Terrorist is doing great. He was two in November so I’ve sent you his birthday picture. He is just a darling – very happy and very bright. He listens in on phone conversations and can pick up when Patch is coming to visit. He then runs up and down the hall screaming with excitement. He has taught Patch how to pick up plants and remove them from their pots and then vandalise the pots and Patch has taught him how to open cupboards and doors looking for treats. They are like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid when they get together.
Darcy was in kennels in September when I went to Scotland, as a week is too long for Sally to manage him (he runs rings round her) and he loved seeing all the other dogs and the kennel maids said he was no trouble and they just loved him. He came out on the lead with the girl wagging the tail when I went to collect him and he didn’t sulk, just licked me to death. He is still very mischievous and a bit of a vandal but he is so comical I can’t be cross with him for long. If I tell him off too much he still nips my bum to shut me up. He loves head butting balloons – we call him the new George Best. It keeps him happy for ages but if he gets hold of the balloon it’s gone instantly. Well, I’d better finish as I am doing this in work. Hope to see you soon.
Love and licks

Your site is a breath of fresh air, so helpful, so informative, interesting and fun. It makes a change from the boring sites that claim to be the top this and the top that. One only has to go to your pedigrees and your news (no embellishments) to see the quality of your dogs and the care that goes into your breeding program. Not everyone is taken in by false claims, and you don't make any claims at all - fair dues to you. Your dogs are beautiful. Kudos to you.

Happy New Year to all at Siddhartha!!
Eddie will be will be eight months old on 8th Jan. He is more than we could have wished for, spoilt rotten of course, was nearly hysterical at Christmas what with visitors, extra treats, hiding Xmas decorations, etc - Santa brought a lovely new bed which was unrecognisable after an hour's chewing. He's doing great Maureen and is one of the most gentle, loving (excited) dogs - where else would you get a welcome home like that - Laura tells me she's having one in every colour when she gets her own place in about ten years!! We hope to get to see Zach McGinn soon - I'm sure he's taken over his new home too!
All the best for 2006 Maureen. xx

I made a point of stopping this young lady to introduce myself and try and glean as much info about her dog as I could, she proudly informed me that it was a TT and how great a pet and companion it was (right away I knew this was the breed for our family). Since then I have researched on the internet about the breed and am now in the search of a quality puppie from a reputable breeder. I have e-mailed you recently and hopefully can become the proud owner of one of your puppies when they arrive at the end of May.

Hello from Miami - Florida.
Great site. Smashing dogs. Love the Irish green!
Will return again - and again to see how your dogs are getting on. I'm coming to Ireland later in the year and would like to know if you will have puppies as I would like to take an "Irish Leprechaun" back with me.
Best Wishes,
Eoghan.

I have just visited your website and I have to ask you "How do you manage to keep your dogs in such wonderful, full coats"? You must be extremely dedicated in order to do this. It is very rare to come across people who are prepared to put in so much work. Keep doing what you are doing - 'cos it sure works. Best wishes from Perth, Australia. Glenys Scott.

Thank you for telling us about your new website - it's brilliant - very fast, clear (no ridiculous music!) and full of pictures. I really like the information about the breed and the breakdown of qualitites - it's very useful for first timers like us. We are in Dublin visiting family from July 8th - 12th. We stay in Black Rock and the South side - Sandymount and Irishtown. Are you anywhere near? Will you have any puppies this summer? Best wishes Jo
